I transferred my painting onto boxes, made from the leftovers from the plywood stretchers, all handmade by a master carpenter, Tim Strunk of Galion, Ohio. Boxes are vessels like bowls, buckets, refrigerators, and houses that keep us warm and safe, keep beer cold, or store tax returns. We even use them to preach from, but the flip side of a box is a surface, and what painter doesn’t love a surface?
