ART EXPERIENCE

10/91 to present - CURATOR /ARTIST- Pearl Conard Gallery/The Ohio State University at Mansfield. Review all proposals for exhibits, hire and supervise student assistants; select, schedule, and install national exhibits; develop brochures, and publicity. Have reviewed work from more than 1,500 artists and have juried various art exhibits.

Authored and illustrated a children’s book, “Blueberry Bear,” published by Inquiring Voices Press, Bloomington, IN

1983 - 1991 INSTRUCTOR - Aims Community College, 5401 W. 20th St., Greeley, CO 80631.
Taught art history, art appreciation, basic design, color theory, interior design, and drawing, and part-time instructor at the Mansfield Art Center and substitute teacher for city schools.

PRIOR EXPERIENCE

WALLCOVERING DESIGNER - Created designs for wallcovering manufacturers in the United States and Canada. Companies included Columbus Coated Fabrics (Columbus, OH), S. M. Hexter and Imperial Wallcovering (Cleveland, OH), United DeSoto (Chicago, IL), Canadian Wallpaper (Toronto, Ont.), and numerous others through a former agent, Frank Galante.

STAFF ARTIST - Ripley's "Believe It Or Not" Museums. Designed sets, displays, interiors; painted murals, mannequins, posters; coordinated matting, framing, and hanging of about 200 pictures; and coordinated the interior decorating.

WALLCOVERING DESIGNER - Columbus Coated Fabrics and Canadian Wallpaper. Created original designs into repeatable patterns for reproduction with accompanying precision color separations. Also designed custom murals for Howard Johnson Motels and General Motors Corp.

CARTOONIST/GAG WRITER - Varsity House, Inc., Columbus, OH. Created & designed cartoons, graphics, labels, hang tags, hangers and captions for sportswear and sleepwear. Sears Roebuck Co., J.C. Penney Co. and several other stores in the country distributed my personal design line.
